The Case

Toshiba TEC Singapore Pte Ltd (TSE) creates, constructs, and maintains top-tier ODM/OEM solutions for Fortune 500 companies globally, as well as for leading small and medium-sized enterprises. It is the sole factory outside of Japan producing these products for the international market. They manufacture both EPOS and Toshiba Multifunction Printers, along with Barcode printers, for B2B markets.


Nonetheless, Toshiba TEC Corp. lacked extensive expertise in crafting business strategies for its international facility. They sought to enhance their understanding of overseas market trends and customer needs. Additionally, they required a practical solution to manage the overseas entity more efficiently.

Goals and Methods

Assisted the Global Sales Team of the ODM/OEM Division at Toshiba TEC Corp.'s head office in Japan to develop business development plans for the Singapore facility. Established B2B partnerships between Toshiba TEC Corp. and technology companies such as Intel Embedded Design Center and IoT, as well as Microsoft Embedded and IoT.

Result

Toshiba TCG developed a platform for the senior management of Toshiba TEC Singapore, which played a crucial role in establishing direct business connections with European and US tech companies operating in Europe. This was part of Toshiba Corp.'s "Voice of the Customer" initiative, which encompasses the company's R&D, Manufacturing, and Sales divisions both in Japan and globally. These insights resulted, for the first time, in enhanced Go-to-Market strategies with new products tailored to customer needs.
